Birdwatcher
Birdwatcher
There are only Birdwatchers.
"A" observes, listens yet ignores.
"A" is a Birdwatcher.
He follows Blue Jay.
Follows but never feeds, when hungry.
Leers but never heals, when injured.
Stares but never saves, from danger.
There is no such thing as guardian angels,
only Birdwatchers.
Them,
Who see Blue Jay collide when she surrenders to fly.
Them,
Who rejoice in our beauty but shield us from recognition.
Them,
Who, with immutable indifference, steel our last breath.
Thus, Blue Jay understands betrayal.
"A" simply stood while the python feasted on her feathers.
"A" simply watched.
